MTHCS and MBPH Collaborate to Offer Monthly Antenatal Services for Mallee Track Residents

6 September 2024

Mallee Track Health and Community Service (MTHCS), in collaboration with Mildura Base Public Hospital (MBPH), is excited to announce the launch of monthly antenatal appointments for pregnant women living across the Mallee Track. This new initiative provides local, expert care to expectant mothers, ensuring easier access to essential health services without the need for extensive travel.

Specialist Care in Your Community
The antenatal services will be provided by the highly skilled midwives from MBPH, who bring their expertise in maternity care directly to the Mallee Track community. This service is further supported by MBPH's expert obstetrics team, ensuring that women receive top-tier care throughout their pregnancy journey.

Local and Comfortable Service
Expectant mothers can now benefit from professional antenatal care in the comfort of their own community. By reducing the need for travel, this service ensures that pregnant women across the region have access to high-quality care closer to home, with the midwifery team offering a warm and supportive environment.

Referral Process
To access these antenatal appointments, women will need to be referred by their GP. Once referred, the midwifery team will take care of the rest, providing comprehensive and personalized care throughout the pregnancy.

Supporting Healthy Pregnancies in the Mallee
“MTHCS is proud to work alongside MBPH to enhance the health and well-being of pregnant women in our region. With this new service, expectant mothers can look forward to receiving the care they need locally, reducing the strain of travel and ensuring a more comfortable pregnancy experience.” says Rosemary Cattanach MTHCS Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery.
