Our Sea Lake Medical Clinic is currently covered by interchanging locum doctors, Monday to Friday. Please see attached calendar for GP coverage below.
A Practice Nurse is also available for appointments at various times, 3 days per week.
A standard appointment is 15 minutes, however longer appointments are available if required. Please ask if you require a longer appointment.
Mixed billing practice.
Fees are subject to length of appointment and Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS) changes. Private patients are charged on the day with Medicare refunding immediately through Medicare on-line.
Health Care Card holders are charged a reduced gap fee and refunded on the same day. Pension Concession Card, DVA Gold Card holders and children 16 years and under are bulk billed.
If you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment, please contact us to cancel or change your appointment time. A $50 fee will be charged for failure to attend or provide cancellation with less than 2 hours' notice (this fee is not Medicare rebatable).
MyMedicare is a voluntary patient registration system that aims to formalise the relationship between patients, their general practice, general practitioner (GP) and primary care teams.
Evidence shows that seeing the same GP and healthcare team regularly leads to better health outcomes for patients.
When a general practice and their patients register in MyMedicare, the Australian Government will provide additional funding to assist the general practice provided, based on patient care needs.
You can start the registration process in your Medicare Online Account through the myGov app. Practice staff will then accept the registration in the MyMedicare system. Or you can fill out a form provided by the practice for Practice staff to upload into the MyMedicare system.
If you require non-urgent care, we would recommend the following options:
Sea Lake Urgent Care Centre: Please phone ahead on 03 5070 2155 or present to the hospital for nurse led 24/7 care. A Registered Nurse will assess and triage you and depending on the matter, will call VVED or ask our locum doctor (if they are on call) for further advise before transferring to another hospital for follow up treatment if required.
Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED): VVED is a free state-wide service that allows you to consult with emergency doctors and nurses via video call from the comfort of your home. Available 24/7. Visit: www.vved.org.au
Instant consults: Expert medical advice, via seeing and speaking to a doctor online: www.instantconsult.com.au
Nurse on call: Free 24/7 service that connects you with a Registered Nurse who can provide expert health advice and help you decide what to do next. Phone 1300 60 60 24 or visit: www.healthdirect.gov.au/nurse-on-call
