Denise Kay retires after 49 years nursing at MTHCS
Legendary nursing tour de force Denise Kay, affectionately known as DKAY for her patient chart signature, retires after 49 years nursing at MTHCS. As a highly skilled midwife she has helped birth half of Ouyen and touched the hearts of many Mallee families with her diligence and care.
Loved by her co-workers MTHCS EDON Rosemary Cattanach recalls, “I was in bed sick with the flu and unable to get the kids to school. I called in the cavalry and even after a nightshift DKAY was there for me, getting the kids up and dressed, food made, housework done and even bundled me into the car for a trip to the doctor. Truly there is no end to her generosity of spirit and I’m proud to have worked alongside such an inspiring nurse.”
We wish Denise every happiness in her retirement and a well-earned rest.
