Supporting community through change

3 July 2023

Mallee Track Health and Community Services says its home care support will increase as changes take place in the sector.

MTHCS services of delivered meals, social support groups, transport, nursing and allied health are staying the same in the Buloke Shire Council area.

“We are here to support you as some provider changes take place,” Community and Social Support Manager Nadiene Lynch said.

“There is no change to our Mallee Track programs at Woomelang - Monica at the Woomelang Café will continue to be contracted by MTHCS to retain the current service of Community-Based Meal and Delivered Meals.”

Ms Lynch said she was pleased to be able to enjoy a meal with participants in the Woomelang Community-Based Meal program last week to talk with them about the changes.

“Our overall message to clients is that existing MTHCS services – thanks in large part to the dedication of our wonderful volunteers – will continue to be available,” she said.

Home support services are available to people aged 65 years and over, or to First Nations people aged 50 or above.

Referral into all of these services is still via My Age Care on 1800 200 422.

Anyone with questions or concerns about these changes at Mallee Track can call Nadiene Lynch on 5092 1111.
