Caring for each other as COVID surges
Staff and visitors to Mallee Track Health and Community Service aged and urgent care facilities are again required to wear a N95 mask, as local cases of COVID-19 increase.
The measures have been put in place to help protect vulnerable members of the community and limit the impact on services.
In addition to wearing an N95 mask, MTHCS staff are also required to test regularly for the virus and to practice social distancing.
“A lot has changed over the past year, but COVID-19 remains a serious illness, particularly for older people and those who suffer from other health problems,” MTHCS Infection Control Nurse Nicola Jardine said.
“The number of positive tests are rising within our communities in the Mallee with hospitalisations and COVID-related deaths increasing across Victoria.
“As well as putting in place COVID measures at our sites, we’re also encouraging people to take steps to protect themselves from the virus.
“A high quality and correctly fitted mask can help to protect you and others from COVID, while it’s also important to keep up to date with your vaccinations.”
People suffering from COVID symptoms, such as a cough, runny nose or change in your sense of taste or smell, are being asked to stay away from MTHCS sites.
