Holter Monitor

Holter Monitor means less travel for patients at Mallee Track Health & Community Service.

The new Holter Monitors at MTHCS Ouyen and Sea Lake campuses mean less travel for patients requiring observation and monitoring of their heart.

“In the past patients had to travel to Swan Hill to have the monitors attached, then travel home wearing the monitor for 24 hours and return to Swan Hill Hospital the following day to have it removed. Which considering the patient isn’t feeling well to begin with, did create extra pressure and fatigue for all those involved.

But now having the Holter monitor here at Sea Lake and Ouyen, we can simply set the patient up locally and they can continue with their day. Returning the next morning to check-in and have the equipment removed.” explained Miranda Conlan, Sea Lake practice nurse.

Dr Frances Peart, CEO of MTHCS says; “This latest equipment has streamlined the service we provide and is one of the many ways we’re living our mission; to provide access to quality, person-centred care to all community members regardless of age throughout the Mallee.”

MTHCS are embarking on the development of a comprehensive three-year strategic plan to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare meets the evolving needs of our diverse and growing community.

“One focal point of the plan will be bringing care closer to home. An extensive community consultation process will be undertaken throughout March 2024, and we invite all to participate. As members of this community, your experiences, concerns, and aspirations are invaluable. Your participation in the strategic planning process will help shape healthcare programs, and services that directly impact you and your loved ones. This is an opportunity to have your voice heard and contribute to the future direction of healthcare in the Mallee Community.” said Peart.
