MTHCS at Mallee Machinery Field Days
MTHCS at Mallee Machinery Field Days
A great two days for Mallee Track Health and Community Services at Speed last week for the Mallee Machinery Field Days.
We had the Shane Warne SISU Health Check Kiosk at our stand operated by our highly skilled staff include Ola the new Director of Nursing at MTHCS Sea Lake, Tayla Willsmore the Nurse Unit Manager at Pattinson House Ouyen and Chelsea Jeffries our Nurse Educator/Practice Nurse.
We completed 49 health checks with 20 GP referrals and 1 urgent referral for a high blood pressure reading. This is vital work consulting with members of our community who may not attending a clinic for regular checks and it’s all part of our philosophy to bring healthcare closer to home for the Mallee.
Another important outcome for the Foundation of Mallee Track was spreading the word about Project X-Ray Vision. Dr Frances Peart MTHCS CEO and Rural Outreach Worker Renae Lanigan hit the airways with Flow FM talking all things MTHCS community care through our Neighbourhood Houses at Ouyen, Sea Lake and Murrayville. As well as urging the community to help raise funds for a new x-ray machine at Sea Lake to enable urgent care services closer to home for the Mallee.
Sarah Carn of the Foundation of Mallee Track walked the grounds handing out fact sheets with a QR code and website link (see below) to the contribution form. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and we have already raised $30k of our ambitious $200k target. Between community donations, government grants and philanthropic funds we hope to achieve our goal over the coming months. So Donate now!
